Title: Sheet Metal Worker

Location: Torrance, CA 90504

Duration:  06+ Months (With Possibility of Extension)

Shift: 2 nd Shift.

Pay Rate: $29.00/hr. on W2

Job Summary:

• Sets up and operates machines such as drill presses, punch presses, shears, bending rolls, brakes, grinders and numerical control equipment to shape and alter Sheetmetal according to specifications. Follows blueprints, rough sketches or engineer drawings to shape metal accurately.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• May set up and operate soldering and welding equipment.
• Uses hand and power tools to shape and smooth metal and to blend seams
• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
• Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Special Considerations:

• Exposure to substantial machine, chemical, biological or other physical risks are anticipated. 
• Lifting will exceed 30 Lbs. and/or repetitions of this or lesser weights will be significant.

Education & Experience:

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
